More than 4 million foreign visitors came to Vietnam last year.

VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Intel have announced a support programme for small- and medium-sized tourist companies in Vietnam.
Intel and VCCI will combine with Internet service providers, computer manufacturers, etc. to produce complete products for travel firms to help them have easy access to the Internet and IT.
According to VCCI, more than 4 million foreign visitors came to Vietnam last year. The figure was over 2 million for the first five months of the year.
VCCI said that Vietnam’s tourism potential is huge but local travel firms are weak in using modern methods to enhance their business. The programme will help them to more effectively use the Internet and IT to market themselves.
The programme was kicked off by a workshop entitled “Electronic marketing – solution to accelerate profit for Vietnam’s tourism” in Vung Tau city, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, attracting nearly 200 travel firms from southern provinces.
Similar workshops will be held in tourism sites like Can Tho, Phu Quoc, Da Nang and Quang Ninh.
